Immanuel United Church of Christ

Immanuel will be meeting and greeting with a prospective full time minister on Saturday evening June 4th.  She will preach for the morning service on Sunday June 5th and a vote of call by the congregation will take place immediately following the service.  If all goes as anticipated, Rev. Lindsey Braun will be leading the congregation beginning in mid-July.
The Senior High Youth will leave for their Mission Trip to the mountain area of Pennsylvania in July.  They will be joining with other youth in building ramps for house accessability, painting, general help around the homes of some of the folk living in one of the poorest areas of the United States.  Our prayers are with them and their sponsors as they begin this new adventure.
We are in the midst of closing out several programs that will resume again in the fall.  Our summer schedule will begin in June with worship moving to 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.  Watch for details for the Bible School program in August and for special programming during the summer months.
Memorial Day Weekend will include a service at the church cemetery immediately following morning worship.  Although this is not a LONG service, everyone is invited to bring along their lawn chairs if that would be more comfortable.
We welcome everyone to join us for worship and fellowship here at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer.
The Mission Statement of Immanuel reads:  The avowed purpose of this church shall be to worship God, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to celebrate the Sacraments; to realize Christian fellowship and unity within this church and the Church Universal; to render loving service toward humanity; and to strive for righteousness, justice and peace.

WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER
Prayer is an important part of every fellowship of believers.  Communication with the Lord is central to our faith.
We ask that you pray for:
those you love and lose you simply tolerate
those who can help and those who need your help
those who are with you in worship and those you meant to invite
those who have more than they need and those who need more
those who know no safety in their lives and those who are secure
those who are sick and those who enjoy perfect health
the people we know and the people we forget
We ask you to pray for the world, given to us all with the directive that we were to care for it
We ask that you not have another day pass without remembering to thank God for all of the blessings you have.
We ask in your prayers that you remember that when Christ died on the cross, YOU were on his mind and in his heart.
